The skills test
The skills test is a real workflow: new leads arrive from a web form, get deduplicated, enriched, added to a CRM, assigned to a salesperson and announced in Slack, with errors caught and logged. Candidates build it in n8n, Zapier or Make and write a short README. We test it with messy data on purpose.
It is one of eight checks, alongside a portfolio review, a past employment check, a live English interview, a paid trial task, a background check and an NDA. You interview the shortlist at the end.

n8n, Zapier or Make: which should I use?
Zapier is the easiest and has the most app connections, but costs rise with volume. Make handles complex flows at lower cost. n8n can be self-hosted and handles high volume cheaply, with more technical setup. Your specialist recommends based on your volume and budget.
What happens when an automation breaks?
Good automations fail loudly. Your specialist builds error alerts into every workflow, so a failure sends a message instead of silently losing data, and documents how to fix common issues.
Should I automate a task or give it to a VA?
