Speed decides who gets the client

Real estate leads often contact more than one agent. The one who replies first, and keeps following up, usually gets the appointment. An inside sales agent turns that from luck into a system: every lead gets a fast response and a planned sequence of follow-ups.

The long game pays too

Many real estate leads won’t move for months. They’re the ones most teams abandon, and the ones an ISA keeps warm with regular, useful check-ins. When they’re ready, they remember who stayed in touch.

Stay inside the lines

ISAs work in a regulated space. They don’t give opinions of value or negotiate, and they follow calling and texting consent rules. We test this in the skills test with a seller who asks what their home is worth, and your brokerage’s policies apply from day one.

How we vet for this role

The skills test

The skills test is a set of recorded role-play calls: a hot buyer lead from Zillow, a seller asking what their home is worth, and a lead who says they're 'just looking.' Candidates must qualify without giving opinions of value, book the right next step and log the calls. We listen for warmth, persistence and staying within what an unlicensed assistant may say.

It is one of eight checks, alongside a portfolio review, a past employment check, a live English interview, a paid trial task, a background check and an NDA. You interview the shortlist at the end.

Getting started

What the first 30 days look like

  1. Week 1

Your ISA learns your markets, lead sources, qualifying questions and what agents need before an appointment. Practice calls with you.

  2. Week 2

Live follow-up on new leads starts, with call notes reviewed daily.

  3. Week 3

Nurture campaigns begin for long-term leads. Scripts get refined based on real objections.

  4. Week 4

Review contact rate, appointments set and appointments kept, and set targets for month two.

FAQ

Questions about hiring a inside sales agent

Can an ISA give price opinions or advice?

No. Opinions of value, negotiation and advice stay with licensed agents. A good ISA gathers the information your agent needs and books the conversation.

Are there calling and texting rules we need to follow?

Yes. Federal and state telemarketing rules, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and do-not-call lists, apply to real estate calls and texts. Your ISA follows your brokerage's consent and calling policies.

How is an ISA different from an appointment setter?

An ISA is an appointment setter who knows real estate: buyer and seller conversations, lead portals, and the long nurture cycle typical of the industry.

Can one ISA support a whole team?

Often yes, with a clear process for assigning appointments. We scope the lead volume on the discovery call.
